Legal Administrative Assistant (Real Estate)

We are looking for an experienced legal administrative assistant to join our growing real estate practice.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Opening and closing files
  • Obtaining applicable searches and due diligence
  • Being the liaison with solicitors for other parties
  • Preparing correspondence
  • Editing security and conveyancing documents, as well as other mark-ups
  • Assisting with preparation and compilation of transaction documents
  • Receiving and reviewing executed conveyancing and security documents
  • Attending to registrations in the Land Title Office
  • Receipting and disbursing funds
  • Assisting with invoicing
  • Filing and records management
  • Providing general administrative support to lawyers and paralegals

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited LAA program
  • 2+ years’ experience working in the legal industry
  • A team player who can work independently and take initiative
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Technological proficiency in Microsoft office applications, as well as an ability to learn new software programs quickly
  • Ability to prioritize and handle a high volume of work under strict deadlines
